Week of Prayer in the Mozhaisk Correctional Colonytranslated

On the Feast of the Intercession of Our Most Holy Lady Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary, the rector of the Archangel Michael Church in the city of Mozhaisk, priest Sergiy Andriyanov, visited the Mozhaisk educational colony.

The visit took place as part of the traditional annual all-Russian event “Week of Prayer,” which takes place with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' in all correctional institutions of the country.

In the church in the name of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called, located on the territory of the colony, Father Sergius performed a festive prayer service to the Most Holy Theotokos. The staff of the institution and students prayed during the service. After the prayer, the priest gave a spiritual and educational lecture for the girls, dedicated to the history of the Feast of the Intercession, Christian virtues, repentance and hope for God’s mercy.

A special and joyful event of the meeting was the consecration of a newly painted image - the Seraphim-Diveyevo Icon of the Mother of God “Tenderness”. This shrine was created by one of the students of the colony.
