"Never shall we be silent to Theotokos": Choir "Artos" Concert in Kamchatkatranslated

October 5, 2026 · 1 min read

On October 4, a concert by the festive choir "Artos" of the Church of St. Sergius the Beginner in Sunnecito, Moscow, was held at the Troitsky Cathedral. The artistic director and conductor was Varvara Volkova. Attendees included parishioners from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

The concert featured compositions by Russian composers of the 19th and 20th centuries and contemporary authors. Before the concert, Father Victor Musicant, the priest-in-charge of the Troitsky Cathedral, addressed the gathered. Also present at the concert was the secretary of the eparchial administration, Hieromonk Nestor (Smirnov).

With the blessing of Archbishop Feodor of Petropavlovsk and Kamchatka, Father Victor presented the conductor of the choir "Artos," Varvara Volkova, with an Archpastoral Certificate.

It's nice that the "Artos" choir came all the way from Moscow to Kamchatka and sang in the Trinity Cathedral. Varvara Volkova deserves the Bishop's diploma, she knows her job well. I wonder if one of our Bitola choirs could do such a concert here.
