The rector of the Zheleznogorsk Cathedral met with students of the Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situationstranslated

On September 11, on the day of the Beheading of the Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist of the Lord John, the dean of the Zheleznogorsk church district, rector of the Cathedral of the Archangel Michael, Archpriest Roman Neshcheret met with students of the Siberian Fire and Rescue Academy of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.
The meeting took place within the framework of a cooperation agreement between the clergy of the Zheleznogorsk church district and the staff of the educational institution. Such events are dedicated to the great and twelfth holidays and take place alternately: either in the format of a prayer service or in the format of a conversation. This time the priest held a spiritual and educational conversation for cadets and students, in which 320 people took part.
Father Roman spoke about the essence of the holiday and its evangelical meaning. The priest explained why John the Baptist, being a righteous man, suffered: he exposed sin and was executed for the truth. This still happens today - a person who tries to live according to God’s commandments often faces ridicule and rejection from others.
