Metropolitan of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye Evgeniy thanked the participants in the festive events in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God “Kazan”, which took place in the Ural capital on November 4, 2026.

– I thank the Lord God for yesterday – November 4th.

I thank my colleagues, the organizers of the Citywide religious procession and a whole series of events that took place in Yekaterinburg.

I thank each of their thousands of participants.

We saw that national unity is not an ideological construct, but a reality of our time.

Let us remind you that the celebration of the Day of Remembrance of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and the Day of National Unity in the Ural capital began with the Divine Liturgy in the Holy Trinity Cathedral, which was performed by Metropolitan Ekaterinburg and Verkhoturye Evgeniy.

At the end of the festive service, thousands of believers with banners and the Kazan Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary went in procession to the Church on the Blood, stopping for a short prayer service at the chapel of the Holy Great Martyr Catherine - the Heavenly Patroness of Yekaterinburg.
