On the eve of one of the most revered Orthodox holidays - the Intercession of Our Blessed Virgin Mary and the Ever-Virgin Mary - the rector of the Luzhetsky Nativity of the Virgin Mary of the Ferapontov Monastery in the city of Mozhaisk, Hegumen David (Kurguzov) visited the Mozhaisk educational colony.

As part of the visit, the clergyman performed a prayer service of thanks to the Most Holy Theotokos, offering prayers for peace, spiritual strengthening and help in every good deed.

After the service, Father David held a warm spiritual and moral conversation with the management and staff of the correctional institution. During the conversation, the priest paid special attention to the importance of patience, mercy and a Christian attitude to the performance of official duty, and also answered questions of interest to employees about faith and spiritual life.

The visit to the colony was timed to coincide with the annual large-scale spiritual and educational event “Week of Prayer”, which is held in institutions of the penal system with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus'.
