A new edition of the “Bible for Children” has been published in the Yakut languagetranslated

The Institute of Bible Translation (IBT) has released a new, revised and expanded edition of the “Bible for Children” in the Yakut language.

The publication, published with the blessing of Archbishop Roman of Yakutsk and Lena, continues the series of books dedicated to the 155th anniversary of the Yakut and Lena diocese, reports the IPB website.

In the preface to the publication, Bishop Roman congratulated young readers on the opportunity to become acquainted with the Holy Scriptures in their native language and expressed hope that the publication would contribute not only to their spiritual development, but also to a deeper acquaintance with the Yakut language.

The archpastor also recalled the long tradition of translating the Holy Scriptures into the languages ​​of the peoples of the North. One of those who devoted himself to this work was Saint Innocent (Veniaminov), with whose activities the history of the establishment of the Yakut diocese is closely connected.

A special feature of the reissued “Bible for Children” is that it consistently presents many biblical stories. In total, it contains 250 stories about the events of the Old and New Testaments - from the creation of the world to the events described in the Book of Revelation (Apocalypse).
