By the end of 2026, in the Bogorodskoye district of the Eastern Administrative District of Moscow (VAO), it is planned to begin construction of a church in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, said Russian State Duma deputy, Patriarchal Advisor Vladimir Resin.

– Before December 25, 2026, it is necessary to obtain an expert opinion on the design documentation. We are also considering the issue of installing a temporary church on a plot of land,” Vladimir Resin was quoted as saying by his press service.

It is specified that a new church complex will appear in Pogonny Proezd. It will be located in a residential area next to apartment buildings and, as noted, “will become a natural part of the daily life of the neighborhood, a space where residents can turn in different life situations and receive support.”

A convenient location will ensure accessibility: the metro stations “Rokossovskogo Boulevard” and “Cherkizovskaya” of the Sokolnicheskaya Line are within walking distance.

The press service of Vladimir Resin also reported that the Eastern Administrative District is demonstrating the highest performance in the history of the city’s church construction program (“Program 200”).
