At the ensemble of the Vologda Kremlin, crosses will soon be returnedtranslated

The crosses from the Resurrection Diocesan Cathedral and the Church of Alexander Nevsky were removed in August of the current year for restoration. The crosses were placed in a specially equipped room for gilding.
The restoration of the structures took about two months, as reported by the Vologda Metropolitanate. Experts performed the removal of upper layers, replenished lost elements, conducted multi-layered, specific, anti-corrosive treatment, puttying, and finally, gilding.
On November 4, during the commemoration of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and the state holiday of National Unity Day, the Resurrection Cathedral's priest protopriest Andrei Smirnov consecrated the crosses. They will soon shine again in their historical places.
It is worth recalling that the full restoration of the Vologda Kremlin ensemble is planned for next year. The work is being carried out as part of the preparations for the city's 880th anniversary.
