Currently, four new Orthodox churches are under construction in the North-Eastern Administrative Okrug of Moscow (NEAD), reported Deputy of the Russian State Duma and Patriarchal Councillor Vladimir Resin.

"We are working on five land plots. Construction is underway at four of them, while one is undergoing restoration. We are also considering another five plots as part of comprehensive territory development. Thirteen churches have already been put into operation," said Vladimir Resin, as cited by his press service.

Highlighting the need for new churches in northeast Moscow, the parliamentarian's press office noted that NEAD is one of the largest districts in the capital: it houses approximately 1.47 million people, more than the population of Nizhny Novgorod. The population density exceeds 13,000 people per square kilometer.

Vladimir Resin also stated that today there are a total of 58 churches within the district. Among them, three temporary ones stand separately, while two have been incorporated into church complexes.

He added that church construction in NEAD is proceeding alongside renovation, metro development, park creation, and residential area expansion.
