A conversation with a priest took place at the border outpost in Karpovkatranslated

On July 28, 2026, with the blessing of His Eminence Stefan, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin, a pastoral meeting with personnel took place at the border outpost in the village of Karpovka.
The conversation was conducted by the coordinator of the department for working with alcohol and drug addicts of the Gomel diocese, cleric of the parish of the Church of the Holy Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon in Gomel, Priest Alexander Grishanenko. The topic of the meeting was common myths about alcohol and their discrepancy with reality.
During the conversation, the clergyman noted that alcohol and other drugs do not help a person cope with internal difficulties, but only aggravate existing problems and contradictions. Particular attention was paid to the importance of a responsible attitude towards one’s health, spiritual life and personal choice.
The meeting was held in the format of an open dialogue, during which participants were able to discuss issues of concern and receive answers from the clergy.
