Good report on the convent, but I'm sorry they didn't say anything specific about how the nuns are today and what work they do. The icon of Panagia Tikhvinskaya is special, I remember seeing it in old photos.

Nice report about the holiday and the history of the monastery, but I agree with Peter - I missed specific details about how the sisters live today and what exactly they do. The Tikhvin icon is really special, here in Olomouc we have a small copy of it on the kitchen table.

I agree, the report could have been more detailed about the daily life of the nurses. We also have a small copy of the Tichvin icon in Pilsen, my husband brought it from a pilgrimage years ago and it hangs in our living room. What exactly do you do with that kitchen replica of yours Veronica, do you pray in it while you cook?

I agree Peter, the image does stand out and in the old photos it looks more severe than I imagined. I too would like to know more about the life of the monks today, what work they do every day and how they maintain the place. Do you know if they have a workshop or something that we can check out?

Yes Peter, the image does have that stern expression in the old photos you mention. I remember reading that the nuns today also take care of the old monastery building with their own hands, but I would really like to know about their daily activities as well. Have you seen any newer photos of the image?
