On Sunday, parishioners of the Church of the Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian gathered near the Golden Mountain memorial. October 4 is the day of the martyrdom of many priests and laity, led by Bishop Anthony (Milovidov). They were shot and buried here, on the outskirts of Chelyabinsk in 1937. Among them is the Hieromartyr Vasily Nosov, glorified in the Cathedral of Chelyabinsk Saints. The rector of the church, Priest Evgeniy Pobirchenko, performed a memorial service for those innocently killed during the years of godless persecution. On October 11, the feast of the South Ural Saints, at 8:30, on Zolotaya Gora the clergy will perform a litany for those who died during the years of repression.
