Orthodox calendar, September 26 †) The moving to the Lord of the Holy Apostle and Evangelist John Saint John the Apostle and Evangelist was born in Bethsaida of Galilee, the son of Zebedee, who was a fisherman, and Salome. John had a brother named Jacob. While Zebedee was once fishing at the Sea of ​​Tiberias with his sons, Jesus came and, standing on the shore, called Zebedee's sons, saying: "Jacob and John, follow me and I will make you fishers of men" (Matthew 4, 19).
