Is it possible to work in an institution where the leadership is Protestant?translated

October 30, 2026 · 1 min read

Reader question:

Hello. If the employer is Protestant, is it possible for an Orthodox person to work in this institution? We are talking about a kindergarten whose investors are Protestants. And the head of the kindergarten is Protestant.

Olga

Priest's answer:

Priest Evgeniy CHEBYKIN

Hello, Olga.

If in this case we are talking about an exclusively secular institution, where no one converts anyone to any denomination, then I see nothing wrong with the fact that Orthodox Christians also work in such an institution.

However, if one of the tasks of this kindergarten is to educate children in the spirit of Protestantism, then here, probably, I would think deeply: do I want to contribute to the development of this religious tradition in our country? Well, Olga, only you and no one else can answer this question. At the same time, I really hope that your answer turns out to be correct in the end!

Please try to regularly attend church services, go to confession, partake of the Holy Mysteries of Christ, read wise books and do good deeds.

May the Lord help you!
