A collection of peonies from different regions of Russia was donated to the monastery in the upper Volgatranslated

Prikhody.ru 03.11.2026. Its own collection of peonies was planted in the Olginsky convent at the source of the Volga in the village of Volgoverkhovye (Tver region). At first, the plantings were placed on garden soil, but it soon became clear that there was not enough space for everyone: until the flower beds were ready, the flowers would gain strength in the potato field. The nuns of the monastery will take care of the peonies.
The landing was carried out by Natalya Romantsova, who came from Torzhok with her husband and son. She planted 31 bushes: plants were brought from Tolyatti, Saratov, Voronezh and Moscow. Natalya Romantsova herself donated several varieties from her personal collection to the monastery - she has more than 250 of them.
“Peonies are flowers for the patient,” the diocese’s public quotes Natalya Romantsova. “They will not immediately show themselves in all their glory: they need to take root, get stronger, and get comfortable in a new place. And it’s up to us to take care of them and not rush them.”
