The Schitul Maicilor parish celebrates, during September 27-29, 2026, three centuries since its consecration. The church of this liturgical community was described by the Late Venerable Father Patriarch Daniel as being "cut into pieces" when it was built for the new Civic Center according to the instructions of dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu.
On Sunday, September 27, at 08:30 in the parish church located on Mitropolit Antim Ivireanul Street, No. 47, in the capital city, a special liturgical program will be held. Morning prayers will begin at 08:30, and the Holy Liturgy will start at 10:30.
The Delegated Late Venerable Father Patriarch Daniel's representative will be Archimandrite Policarp Chițulescu, who is a patriarchal counselor and director of the Holy Synod Library.
On Tuesday, September 29, at 17:00, the Holy Synod Library will host a symposium and an exhibition of photographs dedicated to the Church and Settlement "Schitul Maicilor".
