Young rescuers of the Zhlobin region took an oathtranslated

July 25, 2026 · 1 min read

On the eve of the Fire Service Day of the Republic of Belarus, an oath-taking ceremony for young employees took place in the Zhlobin district division of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The rescuers confirmed their readiness to conscientiously perform their official duties, protect the lives and health of people, act responsibly and maintain restraint in difficult situations.

The event was attended by the cleric of the Cathedral of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity in the city of Zhlobin, Priest Pavel Kulish. The priest blessed the young employees and wished them strength of spirit, wisdom, God's help and fidelity to their chosen cause.

Taking the oath has become an important stage of professional activity for young rescuers and a reminder of the responsibility associated with serving people and the Fatherland.

Good to see Fr Pavel Kulish there blessing the young lads. Taking that oath is a serious step – protecting lives isn't just a job, it's a real responsibility. Hope they stay safe out there.

It’s good that Father Pavel was at the ceremony and blessed the guys. An oath is not just words, especially when it comes to saving people. May God's help really be with them on every trip.

I agree with the guys, Father Pavel always speaks calmly and to the point. Taking an oath to the Ministry of Emergency Situations is not an empty formality, especially when on the road you actually have to pull people out of the fire. Let them have enough endurance, which they wrote about.

Good to see Father Pavel there too. That oath hits different when it's about running into burning buildings for strangers. My nephew did something similar years back in the fire service – said the weight of it stayed with him every shift.

Yeah, that oath really does carry extra weight when you know what it means in practice. Glad Father Pavel was there to bless them—my cousin's a volunteer firefighter upstate and still talks about his swearing-in day like it was yesterday. Did your nephew ever mention if the faith side helped him on tough calls?
