A prayer service as part of the All-Russian Family Parade took place in Kamchatkatranslated

July 6, 2026 · 1 min read

On July 5, a religious procession and prayer service took place at the Trinity Cathedral as part of the All-Russian Family Parade. The procession of the cross after the Divine Liturgy passed from the Trinity Cathedral to the chapel of Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom on the territory of the Trinity Cathedral complex.  The procession was led by Archbishop of Petropavlovsk and Kamchatka Theodore.  At the end of the prayer service to Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom, the Head of the Kamchatka Diocese, Archbishop of Peter and Paul and Kamchatka Theodore addressed those gathered:

“Dear Inessa Erikovna, venerable fathers, brothers and sisters, I cordially congratulate you all on today’s church and state holiday, the name of which reveals the very essence of family life: the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity. Indeed, without love and fidelity, not a single family can stand. At the heart of today's holiday is the glorification and veneration of the noble princes Peter of Murom and his wife, the pious Princess Fevronia. We know that in their lives they did not perform feats of arms and their transition to eternity did not become a martyr’s death, although they were persecuted, but nevertheless, they lived a simple good life, keeping their conscience towards each other, people and...

It's good that they performed the prayer right at the chapel of Peter and Fevronia. Here in Ruse, we also respect them a lot, especially after we got married and baptized the boys. The important thing is that the bishop reminded about the ordinary life with a clear conscience - it is more difficult than any feats.

Good thing it happened right next to the church of Petros and Fevronia. The despot said it right, clear conscience between spouses and people is what keeps a family together, not great deeds. In our house we try the same, every day.

Yes, I also liked the thing about the pure attitude of conscience in everyday life. In our choir we often sing the troparies to Peter and Fevronia, and that's exactly what - simply remaining faithful in small things - is the most difficult thing with children and everyday life. It's nice that the archbishop said it so clearly.

Yes, staying faithful to the little things is really the hardest thing, especially when the children are still small and everyday life eats you up. We have often sung the troparia in our choir, and afterwards I always think how good it is that at least when we sing everything is clear and beautiful. Have you ever prayed the Akathist to Peter and Fevronia for the family?

Yes, I also remembered what Archbishop Theodore said about their simple and pure life, without great deeds of valor. At our house we try the same thing with the bread baked together and the garden, let's not argue for nothing. Thank you for holding the service right next to their chapel, it seems closer to our hearts.

It's good that the prayer hall is right next to the chapel of Peter and Fevronia. Bishop Theodore well reminded that the most difficult thing is to keep a clear conscience in ordinary life, without great exploits. Here in Rousse, we also honor them, especially after we got married - and I often think about it while planting in the garden or baking bread.
