The relics of Saint Paisius from Sihăstria will be taken to Iasi on the occasion of the feast of Saint Pious Parascheva. Cuviosul is considered one of the greatest Romanian clergymen of the 20th century.

The holy relics will be taken from the Sihăstria Monastery and will be placed for worship next to the reliquary with the relics of Saint Pious Parascheva, in the specially arranged canopy near the Metropolitan Cathedral of Iasi.

The program of the celebration of St. Parascheva will be announced in the next period by the Archdiocese of Iași.

Saint Paisius of Sihăstria He was born on June 20, 1897, in the village of Stroiesti, Botoșani county, receiving the baptismal name Petru. Since childhood he loved the lives of the saints and the monastic life, and in 1921 he entered the community of the Cozancea Hermitage. A year later he was ordained a monk, receiving the name Paisie.

From 1948 he moved to the Sihăstria Monastery, where he served for decades as a priest of the monks and thousands of believers who came to ask for his advice and blessing.
