Metropolitan Joseph, about the Dormition of the Mother of God: He chose humility like his Sontranslated

"The Feast of the Assumption of the Most Holy Theotokos is such a great one because the Mother of God chose humility like her Son," Metropolitan Joseph of Western and Southern Europe emphasized Friday evening at Boian Parish in Alberta, Canada.

His Eminence officiated the Vigil service for the Feast of the Assumption, together with Metropolitan Nicolae of the two Americas and Bishop Ioan Cassian of Canada.

The Metropolitan of Western and Southern Europe said that the Mother of God could choose not to die, she could be raised with her body to heaven by her Son.

"But if her Son, God Himself, died and was buried and rose again, she also chose to die, like all of us, and to be laid in the grave. Only the grave could not receive her."

The ascension of the Mother of God was possible because she was filled with the grace of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Let us be filled with Christ! His Holiness Father Joseph urged the faithful of Boian Parish to fill themselves with Christ in order to overcome death.
