The Metropolitan of Banat blessed the restoration works at the oldest parish in Timisoaratranslated

Metropolitan Ioan of Banat blessed on Sunday the renovation works and the restored painting of the Fabric Parish in Timișoara, which celebrates two centuries of existence this year, being the oldest Romanian parish in Timișoara.
His Holiness Father John first officiated the Holy Liturgy, during which he spoke about the miracle of the Multiplication of the loaves.
The Metropolitan Father highlighted the connection between this miracle and the Last Supper, showing that the Eucharistic bread, the Body of the Lord, is the true gift of God to eternal life: "Christ did not multiply the loaves from nothing, but from bread. At the Holy Liturgy, from the darkness, through the grace of the Holy Spirit, the Body of Christ is made", emphasized His Eminence.
The liturgy was followed by the service of blessing the renewal works and the speeches of the parish priest Cosmin Panțuru and father Daniel Alic, who presented the historical significance of the anniversary moment and the main milestones in the evolution of the parish, which built the first Romanian church in Timișoara during a period when Banat was part of the Austrian Empire.
