"Communities fulfill their purpose and grow when people live their lives around the Holy Altar, bearing together their joys and trials," said Metropolitan Antonie of Bessarabia on Tuesday, on the occasion of his visit to the "St. Jer. Joseph the Merciful" Parish in Ungheni.
"Every prayer, every act of charity and every sacrifice made for the Church turns into a blessing for the whole community and for the generations that come after us."
In the holy place, His Holiness Father Antonie raised prayers for peace, for the strengthening of faith and the spiritual growth of the community.
Evoking the moment of the church's closing, in which he personally participated, His Eminence mentioned that the parish is placed under the protection of one of the most chosen sons of Bessarabia, Saint Hierarch Joseph the Merciful, whose life remains a testimony of the sacrificial love, charity and tireless service of the Church of Christ.
