The meeting represented an opportunity for dialogue regarding the role of the Church in the life of communities and common projects.

His Holiness Father Antonie, accompanied by clerics from the Archdiocese of Criuleni and Dubăsari, was received by Alexandru Carțîn, the president of the district, and by the councilors of the institution.

Church and state in support of the people The Metropolitan of Bessarabia thanked the district management for the support, reminding that the goal is "the good of the people, the strengthening of communities and the preservation of the values that define us".

At the same time, His Eminence evoked the personality of Saint Voivode Stephen the Great, a model of love for the people and support for the Church.

It is good that Metropolitan Anthony said directly: both the Church and the authorities serve the same people. This is especially noticeable in Criuleni - they always helped the churches there. It’s good that they remembered St. Stephen the Great, because he built churches and protected people.

I agree, Alexei, it’s good that the Metropolitan spoke directly about this. Here in Yaroslavl we also try, together with the authorities, to support churches, especially when it comes to repairing wiring or heating. Have you been to Criuleni yourself or are you just following the news?
