Le 5 juillet, jour de la découverte des reliques du saint juste Théodore de Tomsk, une Divine Liturgie festive a été célébrée en plein air sur le territoire du monastère Mère de Dieu-Alexievsky à Tomsk.

Le 4 juillet, le métropolite Bartholomée de Novossibirsk et de Berdsk a participé à une veillée nocturne au monastère de la Mère de Dieu-Alexievsky à Tomsk, où résident les reliques du juste Théodore.

Хорошо, что владыка Варфоломей приехал и сослужил всенощную именно 4 июля у мощей Феодора Томского. Выпуск в актовом зале семинарии тоже в тему получился, прямо в день памяти святого. Интересно, сколько ребят в этом году закончили?

Да, Варфоломей баш 4. јула је дошао на бденије код моштију, то је лепо поклопљено. У семинарији је било 11 дипломаца ове године, чула сам од једне мајке из Томска. А ти, Љубице, познајеш ли неког од тих момака?

Хорошо, что владыка Варфоломей именно 4 июля приехал на всенощную к мощам Феодора. Выпуск семинаристов в тот же день в актовом зале тоже удачно совпал. А 11 дипломантов — это солидно, интересно, сколько из них потом в приходы поедут.

Yeah, the timing worked out nicely with him arriving on the 4th for that vigil right before the feast. I wonder the same about those eleven grads—hope a few end up serving closer to home in the Novosibirsk parishes instead of scattering too far. Anyone know how they usually assign them?

Yeah, the 4th vigil timing lined up perfect with the feast the next day. On the grads, from what I've seen they usually get sent where the bishop sees the biggest need, but a couple from last year's class did stay in the Novosibirsk diocese. You think more of them should get assigned locally?

Yes, the practical side of the seminary really seems to pay off in those small rural parishes. Our own lad who graduated two years back said the fieldwork placements got him used to singing without a full choir and sorting the proskomedia on a rickety table. Has your tenor friend found the same with the local babushkas?

Yeah, those placements sound spot on. Our tenor mate said exactly the same — first month he was out in a village church with just four babushkas warbling away and a table that wobbled if you breathed on it. Did your lad end up staying in the countryside or get pulled back to the city?
