Metropolitan Longinus served on Epiphany in the Cathedral in Chicago; exhibition of the Republika Srpska Memorial Center was heldtranslated

On Sunday, September 27, 2026, on the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy and Life-Giving Cross (Crossing Day), His Eminence the Archbishop of New Gračanica-Chicago and the Metropolitan of Midwestern America G. Longinus served the Bishop's Liturgy in the Cathedral of the Holy Resurrection of Christ in Chicago. The church was filled with faithful people who gathered to celebrate the holiday together with their Archpastor.

His Eminence was accompanied by Archpriest Dr. Darko Spasojević, elder of the Cathedral; archpriest-stavrophor Dobrivoje Milunović; Reverend Bojan Banović, parish priest of the Church of Saint Petka in Nashville, Tennessee; and deacon Miroslav Sretenović. The liturgy was magnified by its singing from the choir gallery by the Parliamentary Choir, Serbian Singing Society "Branko Radičević".

In the sermon after the Gospel, Metropolitan Longinus spoke about the meaning of the Holy Cross and connected the holiday with the suffering of the Serbian people, reminding the faithful that the history of Serbian suffering is inextricably linked to the Cross that the Church raises and celebrates on this day.

The liturgy was attended by the Consul General of the Republic of Serbia in Chicago, Dr. Marko Nikolić, the Consul General of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Tatjana Telić, and the Treasurer of Cook County, Marija Pappas.
