Metropolitan Constantine of Cairo proposed creating a Union of Orthodox Mothers in Russia, modeled on the one already existing in Africatranslated

The Union of Orthodox Mothers has been created and is working in Africa; following its model, a similar Union can be created in Russia; this proposal was made by the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Constantine of Cairo and North Africa.
“I, for example, was quite shocked to see the Union of Orthodox Mothers in Africa in parishes, when Orthodox women unite,” said Bishop Konstantin at the Russia-Africa forum as part of the session “Russia and Africa: spiritual sovereignty, traditional values and educational interaction,” RIA Novosti reports.
The archpastor added that the participants of this Union “sew some kind of uniform or some kind of sign, a scarf, and take on social and educational activities in the parish.”
“We have yet to create this in Russia, but it works great for them,” added the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa.
Metropolitan Constantine also noted that it is necessary not only to teach Africans, but also to learn from them how to relate to family.
