The new Metropolitan of Perm and Kungur, Ignatius, opposed the staging of “Woland’s Ball” at a theatrical procession in Perm. He wrote about this on social networks. The bishop was outraged by the mystical theme of the procession. According to him, the production contains “Satanism under the guise of contact with theatrical art” and mentioned the “International Satanism Movement”, which is recognized as extremist. The Metropolitan also expressed a lack of understanding why the organizers are going to stage a scene from Mikhail Bulgakov’s novel “The Master and Margarita,” “if this is a very difficult plot to understand.” The theatrical procession is scheduled to take place on September 30 near the U Most Theater. The route will pass through the Theatre-Theater, the Actor's House, the Ural Hotel, the Crystal Cinema and the Puppet Theater. Artists and guests will walk along the main streets in costumes from performances to the music of different cultures. The event opens the second International Theater Festival “Perm Phantasmagoria”, dedicated to the work of Russian and foreign mystical authors.
