On September 19, on the day of remembrance of the miracle of the Archangel Michael in Khoneh, Metropolitan Theodosius of Samara and Novokuibyshevsk led the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Archangel Michael in the village of Schmidt in the city of Samara. His Eminence was co-served by the rector of the church, Archpriest Konstantin Kalashnikov, and the clergy of the Samara Metropolis. Liturgical chants were performed by the male choir “Sofia” under the direction of Deacon Andrei Popov and the large mixed choir of the Church of the Archangel Michael. On this day the parish celebrated its patronal feast day. The miracle of the Archangel Michael in Khoneh occurred in the 4th century in Phrygia, in the area of ​​Herotopa, not far from the ancient Colossae. According to church tradition, Archangel Michael appeared in a dream to the father of a mute girl and revealed to him that his daughter would receive the gift of speech by drinking water from a healing spring. After the healing took place, the whole family accepted Holy Baptism, and the grateful father built a church near the source in honor of the Archangel Michael.

Over time, not only Christians, but also pagans began to come to the source for healing, many of whom, having witnessed miracles, turned to Christ. For many years, the pious Christian Archippus served in the Church of the Archangel Michael.…
