Metropolitan Eugene headed the first “Academic meeting” of the new academic yeartranslated

Today, October 17, 2026, the first “Academic Meeting” of the new academic year, which took place in the new building of the Ekaterinburg Theological Seminary in Verkhnyaya Pyshma, was headed by the Chairman of the Synodal Department of Religious Education and Catechesis, Metropolitan of Ekaterinburg and Verkhoturye Evgeniy.

The meeting was attended by the regional Minister of Education Svetlana Yuryevna Trenikhina, who called the meeting in the new building of the Ural Theological School a real gift to the teaching community.

The meeting began with the ceremonial signing of the Plan of joint activities of the regional Ministry of Education and the Yekaterinburg, Kamensk, Alapaevsk, Nizhny Tagil and Serov dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church for the 2026/2027 academic year.

The document defines the interaction of the regional education system with the Yekaterinburg diocese in the field of spiritual and moral education and upbringing during the new academic year. The plan was signed on the basis of a Cooperation Agreement between the Yekaterinburg Metropolis of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Ministry of Education.
