Metropolitan Evgeniy took part in the All-Russian scientific conference “Kazan as a center of secular and spiritual education in the history of the Russian state”translated

The All-Russian scientific conference “Kazan as a center of secular and spiritual education in the history of the Russian state” opened in Kazan on November 2, 2026. The plenary session was held at Kazan Federal University.

The educational forum brought together scientists, local historians, graduate students and students from different regions of Russia. Participants discuss the contribution of Kazan educational institutions to the development of domestic education, as well as the city’s role in intercultural and interreligious dialogue.

The participants were addressed with welcoming words by the Chairman of the Synodal Department of Religious Education and Catechesis, Metropolitan of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye Evgeniy, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Leila Fazleeva, President of the Russian Academy of Education Olga Vasilyeva, Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan Kirill, acting. Director of the Institute of Russian History of the Russian Academy of Sciences Denis Gergilev, Rector of KFU Lenar Safin.
