Metropolitan John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol took part in the round table “Practical fulfillment of monastic vows in modern conditions”translated

With the blessing of Metropolitan John of Belgorod and Stary Oskol, the round table was held via remote communication with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' with the participation of the Right Reverends, abbots, abbesses and monastics from dioceses located on the territory of the Belgorod, Kursk, Oryol and Tula metropolises. The work of the round table was headed by Metropolitan Alexy of Tula and Efremov. Metropolitan Alexy addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech. Bishop Theodoret of Venev made a report from the Tula diocese on the topic “The Definition of Monasticism among the Ancient Fathers and Modern Spiritual Writers.” Hieromonk Theodosius (Makarov), a resident of the Holy Dormition Monastery in Novomoskovsk, also gave a report “The Path to Christ: Spiritual Instructions of St. Porfiry Kavsokalivit on the Essence of Monasticism.”
