I remember how in the late 90s, Bishop Seraphim came to us in Nizhny for his patronal feast day and after the service he spoke for a long time with the people at the church, listening to everyone. He was a bright man. It’s good that the museum organized such an evening of remembrance, well done.

It's good that they mention such details from his service in Penza. I remember how in the 1990s, similar meetings after the liturgy lasted for hours because everyone wanted to come. I wonder if anyone that evening talked about how they rebuilt parishes after Soviet times.

Thank you, Timofey, for such a vivid memory. Here in Kazan, too, many senior parishioners told how Bishop Seraphim knew how to listen to everyone, even when he was already very tired. And in which church in Nizhny did he then serve on the patronal feast day?

Yes, these memories from the 1990s are valuable, because back then everything really started from scratch after communism. In our Gdańsk, people didn't go out for a long time after the liturgy, but the bishop always had time for everyone. I wonder if at this meeting anyone specifically mentioned the first rebuilt churches in Penza - maybe some of you were there in person?
