September 6, 2026 · 1 min read

At the end of summer, an event that has already become a good tradition took place - the third meeting of the Union of Orthodox Youth of the Penza Diocese “Agape”. How did the meeting go at the new site, what does the modern generation ask the priests about over a cup of tea, and why are young people ready to hitchhike hundreds of kilometers to the meeting? About this and much more, the author and host of the awareness-raising program […]

Good thing they did it again this year. It's nice that the children ask the priests with tea in hand, it shows that they have real questions. And the fact that some have hitchhiked hundreds of kilometers shows how much they care.

It’s good that the rally was held again, and on a new site. I wonder what exactly the guys ask the priests over tea - maybe about how to maintain faith in the world? And about hitchhiking after hundreds of kilometers - yes, it shows that the matter is really important for young people. In Yekaterinburg, such meetings would also be useful.

In Yaroslavl, after such rallies, young people also spend a long time discussing these very conversations over tea. I wonder what questions were the most frequent this time - about relationships with parents or how not to lose faith in college? Hitchhiking halfway across the country is a big deal; ours would have done it too if they had known in advance.

Here in Voronezh, after such meetings, what is most remembered is the tea conversations. This time, they most often asked about relationships with parents and how not to lose faith in the first year. And hitchhiking across half the country - yes, our guys do that too, one guy from Tambov arrived, covered in dust, but happy.

In St. Petersburg, after such meetings, people most often remember tea parties rather than lectures. I wonder, do young people in Yaroslavl also hitchhike or do they still take trains? My grandson once hitched a ride from Moscow to a rally in the region, and he still talks about it.

Here in Bucharest, the young people from the parish keep asking about the same things after the service, especially how not to lose faith in college and how to get along with their parents. It's nice that they made the trip to a new location, and the fact that some hitchhike hundreds of kilometers shows that they really care. Next year, God willing, my daughter will go to something similar.

Yes, it's good that they held it in a new place. Here in Tbilisi, the children remember these tea talks the most, especially how to keep the faith in the university. Hitchhiking for a few hundred kilometers really shows that your heart is really into this work.

Yes, Pavel, guys often ask about preserving faith in the world. At our rally, one guy told me how at work you have to keep quiet about fasting so as not to stand out. Have you already tried such tea parties with priests in Yekaterinburg?
