Thousands of pilgrims participated on Tuesday in the feast of Saint Theodosius at the Brazi Monastery, Vrancea county. Metropolitan Varnava emphasized that "Saint Theodosius was not afraid of worldly power."

The program of the celebration began on Monday evening, when His Eminence Father Varnava, Metropolitan of Neapolis and Stavroupolis (Orthodox Church of Greece), brought the reliquary with a fragment of the wood of the Holy Cross, being welcomed by His Eminence Father Teofil Trotușanul, Vicar Bishop of the Archdiocese of Roman and Bacău.

The Holy Cross was placed for veneration next to the casket with the venerable relics of Saint Theodosius.

The grace of the monastery The Holy Liturgy was officiated by Metropolitan Varnava, together with Archbishop Ciprian of Buzău and Vrancea and Vicar Bishop Teofil Trotusanul.

Metropolitan Varnava highlighted that Saint Theodosius followed the path of the Cross of Christ with absolute fidelity, assuming his sacrifice for the defense of sacred values.

"When the hordes of barbarians came to this place, he refused to surrender the holy things and the precious odors, receiving by this free choice the crown of martyrdom."
