Michael the Brave, commemorated 425 years after passing into eternity: The symbol of an ideal, says PS Samuel Bistrițeanultranslated

Michael the Brave was commemorated on Wednesday, on the occasion of the 425th anniversary of his death, through a series of events held at the "Mihai Vodă" Monastery in Turda.

Vicar Bishop Samuel Bistrițeanul of the Archdiocese of Vad, Feleac and Cluj showed that the voivode remained in the memory of Romanians as a symbol of unity.

"He was not only a great military leader and a ruler who won great battles, but he became for our nation the symbol of an ideal. And the ideal is the unity of the Romanians."

"A nation can be strong when it does not lose its soul. But if it loses its faith, it loses its roots. Faith is our root," His Holiness also said.
