Metropolitan Sawa: Saint Job of Pochaev remains a model of faith and devotion

The Orthodox Church in Poland commemorated Saint Job, Abbot of Pochaev, on September 10, with celebrations at the Church of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker in Kośna.

The Divine Liturgy was presided over by Archbishop Grzegorz of Bielsk, together with Bishop Paweł of Hajnówka and Bishop Warsonofiusz of Siemiatycze, accompanied by clergy of the Warsaw-Bielsk Diocese. Metropolitan Sawa of Warsaw and All Poland attended the service in prayer.

In his address, Metropolitan Sawa highlighted the importance of heavenly patrons in the life of Orthodox Christians, describing Saint Job as an example of complete dedication to God and a defender of the Orthodox faith and tradition.

The Metropolitan stressed that Saint Job’s example remains relevant both for clergy and the faithful, particularly in challenging times.

“The times in which we live are difficult and complex, but with Christ we are strong,” Metropolitan Sawa said.

He also emphasized that unity and harmony require obedience to God, patience and a willingness to follow His will.

Concluding his address, Metropolitan Sawa thanked the clergy and faithful for their common prayer and invoked God’s blessing upon all those present.
