Metropolitan of Volokolamsk met with Russian Ambassador to North Korea

On September 22, 2026, a meeting took place between the Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, and the Ambassador of Russia to North Korea, A. L. Podtolisev.

The Metropolitan welcomed the Russian diplomat and wished him God’s help in carrying out his important and responsible mission.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed, among other things, matters concerning the daily life of the parish community of the Holy Trinity Church in Pyongyang, a significant part of which is made up of Russian diplomats and their family members.

Also taking part in the meeting was Priest Andrei Titushkin, an associate of the Secretariat for Foreign Institutions of the Department for External Church Relations.
