Metropolitan of Korçë: My greatest achievement is to find a place in your hearts

Metropolitan Anastas of Korçë marked the first anniversary of his enthronement with a celebration at the Resurrection of Christ Cathedral in Korçë, Albania, expressing gratitude to the faithful and emphasizing that his greatest aspiration is not simply to serve as their Metropolitan, but to become their spiritual father and brother.

The anniversary celebration brought together numerous faithful from Korçë and the surrounding areas, as well as visitors from Vlora, Berat, Tirana and Durrës. Among those present were Metropolitan Asti of Berat, Vlora and Kanina, and Father Theonai, a monk from Mount Athos.

Addressing the congregation, Metropolitan Anastas reflected on his first year of pastoral ministry, recalling the emotions he experienced when he left Tirana to settle permanently in Korçë, a city he had previously visited only a few times.

He acknowledged the challenges and responsibilities that accompanied his appointment, emphasizing that God often leads people along unexpected paths and entrusts them with responsibilities they may initially feel unable to bear.
