Metropolitan of Acre ordained Priest at Golgotha

On the morning of Friday, 23 October 2026, during the Divine Liturgy celebrated at the Horrendous Golgotha, presided over by Metropolitan Makarios of Acre–Ptolemais, the Deacon John was ordained a Priest. He is to serve as a priest in the Russian-speaking parishes of the Patriarchate within the Metropolis of Acre–Ptolemais.
The ordination was preceded by the paternal address of the ordaining Hierarch. Following the laying on of the Hierarch’s hands and the invocation of the Holy Spirit, the concelebrating Fathers of the Holy Sepulchre Brotherhood, the priests serving in the region of the Metropolis of Acre–Ptolemais, and the ordinand’s relatives proclaimed, “Axios!” (He is worthy!).
Following the ordination, the ordaining Hierarch, the newly ordained priest, and those who had participated in the ordination proceeded to the Patriarchate, where they paid their respects to Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, and expressed their gratitude to Him for His blessing and the honour bestowed upon them.
At the same time, His Beatitude received pilgrimage groups from Serbia and Ukraine, as well as groups from the communities of Haifa and Acre, in the Throne Room.
