Metropolitan Nikolay of Plovdiv meets Greek singer Konstantinos Argiros ahead of concert

Metropolitan Nikolay of Plovdiv received renowned Greek pop singer Konstantinos Argiros on September 2, 2026, shortly before the artist’s first concert at the Ancient Theatre of Plovdiv.
The meeting took place at the Metropolitan residence and was attended by Bishop Polikarp of Belogradchik, First Vicar of the Metropolitan of Plovdiv, Archimandrite Maxim, Chief of Staff to the Metropolitan, Archimandrite Evtimiy, as well as representatives of the cultural sector and members of the artist’s entourage.
Metropolitan Nikolay warmly welcomed Argiros to Plovdiv, highlighting the ancient city’s rich history, spirituality and culture. Their conversation also reflected on the longstanding spiritual and cultural ties between the Bulgarian and Greek peoples, rooted in their shared Orthodox faith, history and traditions.
Particular attention was given to the role of music and art as a universal language capable of bringing people together and offering joy, hope and beauty.
Argiros expressed his respect for Metropolitan Nikolay and personally invited him to attend his concert later that evening.
