Metropolis of Sweden: Launch of GOYS activities

GOYS (Greek Orthodox Youth of Scandinavia) is one of the youth ministries of St. George Cathedral of Stockholm and is intended for teenagers in grades 7–12, between the ages of 12 and 18.

Its purpose is to help young people learn about and experience the Orthodox Christian Faith, cultivate a personal relationship with Christ, develop meaningful friendships, and participate actively in the life of the Church.

During the weekly meetings, discussions are held on issues that concern teenagers, including friendship, bullying, our identity in Christ, and dealing with negative thoughts.

The program also includes games, excursions, camps, and volunteer and charitable activities in support of people in need.

On Sunday, September 6, 2026, a Service of Blessing will be celebrated to mark the beginning of all the youth programs of our Cathedral.

The regular GOYS meetings will begin on Sunday, September 13, 2026, immediately after the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, at approximately 11:45 a.m., at St. George Cathedral (Birger Jarlsgatan 92, 114 20 Stockholm).
