A memorial to J.R.R. Tolkien is planned for Westminster Abbeytranslated

In spring 2027, a memorial to the world-renowned author J.R.R. Tolkien is planned to be installed in the Poets' Corner of Westminster Abbey in London (United Kingdom).

The unveiling of the memorial will coincide with the 90th anniversary of the publication of J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit, or There and Back Again" and the 50th anniversary of his own "The Silmarillion," reports TASS citing the abbey's website.

It is reported that the composition, standing at 2.5 meters in height, will be based on Tolkien's concept of the "Tree of Tales."

The memorial sign will primarily be made of wood and vertically embedded into stone in the southern transept of Westminster Abbey.

Recall that J.R.R. Tolkien (1892-1973) is the author of such world-renowned works as "The Hobbit, or There and Back Again" and "The Lord of the Rings."

Although there is no word for "God" in his novels, some critics called "The Lord of the Rings" "conservative and shockingly Christian."
