Honey Savior in Oshmyany - a holiday of beauty, faith, love and care for one's neighbortranslated

On the day when the Orthodox Church celebrates the Origin (removal) of the Honest Trees of the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord and the beginning of the Dormition Fast, in the Ashmyany Church of the Resurrection the holiday filled the church vaults not only with sincere prayer, but also with the fragrance of honey, as well as the aroma of freshly baked gingerbread.

After receiving the Holy Mysteries of Christ and the pastoral sermon of Priest Sergius Miguel, believers gathered to consecrate the honey of the new harvest. On this day, everyone who came to the church could share the joy of the fruits of the earth, asking for God's blessing on them.

The day before, the sisters of mercy of the Varvara Sisterhood decorated the church and the cross on the central lectern with golden sunflowers and gladioli, their shades reminiscent of the color of honey and the gentle August sun.

On this day, special attention was paid to those who stood at the origins of parish life. The sisters lovingly prepared gifts for the old-timers. After the morning service, they were presented with blessed honey and handmade gingerbread baked by one of the sisters of the sisterhood.
