On Thursday, Marin Mândrilă received the "Faith and Communion" Order for his support over the years to the Romanian Orthodox Church and for his contribution to the construction and restoration of several places of worship.
The distinction was handed to him at the Palace of the Patriarchate by His Holiness Father Varlaam Ploieșteanul, Patriarchal Vicar Bishop, on behalf of His Beatitude Father Patriarch Daniel. The moment took place in the opening of the working session of the Permanency of the National Church Council.
His Eminence recalled the projects to which the Romanian entrepreneur contributed, including the church in his native village Sfințești, in Teleorman county, the Church of the Guard Regiment, the "Saints Constantine and Elena" Church in Piața Muncii and the "St. Mercurie" Church in Bucharest.
At the same time, the hierarch mentioned the support offered for the construction of the new church in the town of Comarnic, which he called "very necessary in a neighborhood where there was no place of worship", and for the creation of the mosaic of the National Cathedral.
