Manuscripts and printed psalter editions kept in the collections of the Diocesan Museum in Huși will be exhibited to the public on Wednesday at an event organized by the Muzeul "Vasile Pârvan" in Bârlad, Vaslui County.
The cultural manifestation, titled "The Hymn of the Church Through Time: Exhibition of Manuscripts and Printed Psalter Editions (19th-20th Centuries) from the Diocesan Museum Collections in Huși," is organized by the Diocese of Huși and the Association "Holy Martyr Chrysanthos."
From Manuscript to Print Among the exhibited pieces are the Anastasimatar of Saint Macarius, Proto-psaltery, created in Vienna, considered the first Romanian printed musical manuscript.
The public will be able to see anthologies of psalters in Greek used in the churches of the Diocese of Huși during the first half of the 19th century, as well as later printed works within the Romanian space.
The collection includes Idiomelaries by Dimitrie Suceveanu, printed in Neamț; the Morning and Liturgical Books of Ioan Zmeu; and psalter manuscripts from the 20th century signed by Alexandru Raicu.
