The Savior Jesus Christ first heals the soul: PS Paisie Sinait at the patron of Plumbuita Monasterytranslated

July 12, 2026 · 1 min read

"In the case of the paralyzed man from the Gospel, the Savior Jesus Christ first heals his soul, as he was sick because of his sins," said the Most Reverend Father Paisie Sinaitul, Patriarchal Vicar Bishop, on Sunday, at the patron of the Plumbuita Monastery in Bucharest.

"The Gospel message of this Sunday is that immediately after the forgiveness of sins, Christ also offers physical healing."

"Dare, son!" The hierarch recalled that "Jesus, seeing not the faith of the one who was brought before Him, but the faith of those who carried it, said to the weak man: Be of good courage, son!"

"The savior does not call him weak, he does not call him a sinner, but he calls him a son in the literal sense of a child, that is, a man born again through faith and work. The weak is a descendant of the first man created by God, Adam, and Christ came to forgive and heal the sins of Adam", emphasized the patriarchal vicar bishop father.

Amen. I especially remembered how the bishop said that Christ did not call him "Slobanov" and not "sinner", but "son". It is very human and powerful at the same time. So, after confession, we can also start all over again, like children.
