The Moldovița Monastery hosted the filming of an audition from the new season of the MasterChef Romania showtranslated

The Moldovița Monastery in Suceava County hosted the filming of a sample from the new season of the MasterChef Romania show.

On Wednesday, the production team completed one of the challenges of the culinary competition within the monastic settlement, chosen as a representative place for the heritage and traditions of Bucovina.

According to a post on the Facebook page of the Sucevan monastery, the 11th season of the show will include rehearsals held in several emblematic places in Romania, to highlight the landscapes, traditions and local gastronomy.

The spaces set up for the competition included both the monastery courtyard and other areas within the settlement. The contestants' preparations were evaluated by the judges Cătălin Scarlătescu, Sorin Bontea and Florin Dumitrescu, and monks and locals took part in the tasting.

During the program, there was an artistic moment supported by the popular music performer Angelica Flutur.

The filming took place with the blessing of His Holiness Father Calinic, Archbishop of Suceva and Rădăuți, and with the support of Stavrophore Ecaterina Vicleanu, abbess of the monastery. More than a hundred people participated in the making of the episode...

It was strange to me that they filmed MasterChef right in the monastery. Still, it's nice that the nuns and locals tried the dishes, at least it's something homemade. Did Angelica Flutur sing a song from Bucovina?

It is interesting that it was filmed in the Monovitsky Monastery. I liked that the nuns and local residents tried those dishes - it's human. Did the filming interfere with the service in the church?

It was strange to me at first glance, Đorđe, the monastery is not a place for competitions. But when I read that the nuns and the locals tried the dishes, I thought that it was at least an opportunity for one of them to remember an old recipe from Bucovina. Angelica Flutur sang "Cântec de la Moldovița", as far as I heard from acquaintances from the parish there. And you, did you watch that part?

That's exactly what came to mind while I was reading - they are used to peace, and suddenly there are hundreds of people, cameras and judges in the yard. The recipes from Bukovina are really nice, but I agree that they would be better off at some glory where you eat and talk. Did you maybe hear something from someone from Suceava about how the nuns felt after everything?

I agree, Branislav, the courtyard of the monastery is not really a place for cameras and shows. I saw that the nuns were kind, but after the filming they quickly returned to their jobs in the garden and in the church, without any major comments. And you, have you tried some of those Bukovica recipes at home?

I agree, Ivana, the peace in the monastery must have been the main thing that was disturbed by all those cameras and a hundred people. I heard from an acquaintance from Suceava that the nuns were a bit tired afterwards, but that they still enjoyed the meals - especially those with cheese and dill from Bukovina. And you, would you like to try something similar at a celebration here in Niš?

It seems to me that they wanted to show how food is a part of life in the monastery, but it really looks strange when it's all filmed in front of the cameras. I tried some bukovica cakes at my neighbor's house after the church celebration and I agree that peace suits them better than a show. Did you hear what old mother Ecaterina said about that?

I didn't see that the nuns commented anything special afterwards, they just went back to the kitchen and garden as usual. It seems to me that it is better when such recipes are tried out in public with coffee and conversation, than in front of the cameras. And you, Branislav, what do you think, would Old Lady Ecaterina even allow it to happen again?

I haven't heard anything from Suceava, but it's clear to me that their peace has been disturbed - they live quietly, and suddenly there are a hundred people and spotlights in the yard. Recipes with cheese and dill sound good, but I agree with you, they would be better off basking in some glory with a conversation than in front of the cameras. And have you tried something similar from Bukovina?

Yes, Teodora, those cameras and a hundred people certainly did not go well with the peace of the monastery. I heard that the nuns enjoyed dishes with cheese and dill, just as we here at the feast in Niš love when someone brings cheese pies from nearby villages. And you, would you rather try something sweet or salty at such a rehearsal?

Yes, Branislav, it was probably noisy with the cameras and those hundred people, although the nuns still enjoyed those pies with cheese and dill. Here in Podgorica at Slava, we like to mix salty and sweet, so I would try both. And you, have you ever been to a Bukovina monastery table?
