The Lainici Monastery in Gorj County celebrated one of its feasts dedicated to the Feast of the Transfiguration on Thursday. "It is the model of the divine vision," said His Holiness Father Irineu, Metropolitan of Oltenia.
The celebration began with the officiating of the Holy Liturgy by Metropolitan Irineu of Oltenia, together with Archbishop Varsanufie of Râmnic, Bishops Lucian of Caransebeș, Nicodim of Severin and Strehaia, Sebastian of Slatina and the Romanians, Siluan of Hungary, and Nectaria of Ireland and Iceland.
A feast of light The Metropolitan of Oltenia spoke about the significance of the Feast of the Transfiguration, emphasizing that it reveals the divine glory of Christ and calls the faithful to the renewal of life.
