His Holiness Father Benedict, Bishop of Sălaj, served on Friday at the Bălan Monastery, Sălaj county, on the occasion of the patron saint dedicated to Saint Pafnutie Pârvu Zugravul. His Eminence highlighted the life and work of the saint, emphasizing that "he was a hesychast painter".
The hierarch presented the life of St. Venerable Pafnutius Pârvu Zugravul, showing that he transformed his talent into a work entirely at the service of God, through prayer, work and humility.
Starting from the nickname of "Pârvu Mutu", His Eminence explained that "this designation associated with his name expressed the discipline he assumed as a painter and then as a monk: silence".
