"The Mother of God, although she will pass through death and then be moved to heaven with her body, not just with her soul, she will always be present in the world by praying for them", emphasized on Saturday the Blessed Father Patriarch Daniel in the historical Chapel "St. M. Mc. Gheorghe" of the Patriarchal Residence.

His Beatitude explained the Assumption of the Virgin according to the Synaxar and the liturgical chants of the feast.

"This account from the synaxar tells us that the Mother of God, after receiving with joy the news that she will move from this earthly life, fell asleep in the Lord. After falling asleep, she was taken to the tomb and then, three days after the burial, the Apostle Thomas also came, who also wanted to see her tomb. When those present opened her tomb, they found in the tomb only a shroud of the Mother of God. And from here they understood that the Mother of God was taken to heaven".

Father Patriarch Daniel emphasized that the Assumption of the Mother of God is not a simple move to heaven, but "it is above all a change from the earthly life, perishable or corruptible, to an incorruptible existence. A gracious move of her to the right of her Son in Heaven, in the light and peace of the Holy Trinity"....
